There is a tradition of performing Aparajita Puja on the day of Dussehra which is performed during the Aparahan kaal. Let us understand what is its correct ritual:

On this day a holy and pure place is chosen in the east-north direction of the house.

Now, after cleaning that place, apply sandalwood paste and Ashtadal chakra there.

After this the resolution of Aparajita Puja is taken.

Aparajita Mantra is written in the middle of the Ashtadal Chakra and then Aparajita is invited.

After this Maa Jaya is invoked with mantra on the right and Maa Vijaya is invoked on the left side.

After this, Shodashopachar Puja is performed with Aparajita Namah Mantra.

After this people pray to the goddess for accepting their prays and devotion and keep her blessings in our life.

After the puja is over, the deities are greeted.

What’s The Difference Between Vijaydashmi & Dussehra?

To understand the difference between Vijayadashami and Dussehra, first of all, it is necessary to know that since ancient times, the festival of Vijayadashami has been celebrated on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. On the other hand, when Lord Ram killed Lankapati Ravana on this day, this day came to be known as Dussehra. So, it is clear that the festival of Vijayadashami was being celebrated long before the killing of Ravana.
