Ninth Navratri Mata: Day 9 of Navratri is of Maa Siddhidatri

Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth manifestation of Maa Durga, is worshipped on the 9th day of Navratri. Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped on the ninth day of Navratri because she gives the results of all the nine days worship as she has the power of all Siddhis.

Maa Siddhidatri is the possessor of 26 different Siddhis, to get some of which devotees and Saints worship her alike. She is also worshipped by Deva, Gandharva, Asura (Demons), Yaksha, and Siddhas. It is believed that Lord Shiva got all his Siddhis by worshipping Maa Shakti. With the gratitude of Maa Durga, the half body of Lord Shiva became that of Maa Shakti, and therefore he was called Ardhnarishvar [half Nari (woman) and half Ishwar (God)].

Riding on a lion, Maa Siddhidatri sits on the Lotus flower. In her four hands, she holds a Gada, a Chakra, a Lotus flower, and a Shankha (Conch).
